What I can offerThe following can help you decide if what I offer might suit you.My counselling philosophyI am a Person-Centred counsellor. It means that I see you as an unique person, valuable in your own right. I believe that you can be trusted to find your own way out of your difficulties. I believe that you have all the answers within you that are waiting to be discovered. I believe that you can come in touch with your natural tendency to grow and change. I know that you can much more easily achieve that in a safe, understanding and supportive relationship. I see my counselling work as facilitating such a relationship: I try my best to deeply understand how the world looks through your eyes, how it feels to be you. I accept you as you are, without judgement. I will not tell you what you need to do but I will assist you in finding your own solution to your problems. I will follow your own path and pace.ConfidentialityNothing you say is revealed to anyone else without your consent, even the fact that you are here. Any notes made by me after the session will not contain any name or other information that might identify you. They are kept in a safe place.SupervisionMy professional body, BACP, requires that I take my clients's problems to a regular supervision by another experienced counsellor. Any information my supervisor receives is also treated as confidential. I also hold professional insurance and participate in on-going professional development workshops and courses.
